Another is that most older men are financially stable and ready to settle down. Those who don’t rank high in terms of physical attractiveness try to compensate by being accomplished in other aspects of life — one that is particularly common is in terms of financial stability. At the end of the day, who wouldn’t want that?
The more exposed younger women are to the harsh realities of life, the more they seek a partner who is going to be a reliable spouse and companion, one who gives the impression that he is in control of his life and can provide. Because the reality is men are seen as the provider, the head of the family, the one who wears the pants in the relationship. And a man won’t be able to fulfill that role if initially he is giving the impression that he is yet to establish a name or career for himself.
There’s nothing wrong with starting small. There will always be women out there whose values and standards will change as they meet people with different personalities or outlooks in life. But in this day and age, women (both young and old) who are looking to build lasting relationships will obviously favor those who best fit the criteria of a long-term partner.
