REALITIES
“Why has it become harder to satisfy/please people these days?”
It kind of feels like that sometimes, doesn’t it?
But I’m afraid it’s not as simple as that. Some people are harder to please, yes, but that’s the nature of everyone being different. You’re just gonna have to get used to meeting people who have high standards and expectations.
As to the difficulty of satisfying people in general, a lot of it has to do with the advent of technology and the persistent use of social media. It’s become so much easier now to observe the lives of others and to see all the things we don’t have in our own lives. Because of that, we can’t help but make comparisons every chance we get.
People become harder to satisfy if they’re aware of what else they can have. It becomes easier to take simple things for granted because the internet constantly shows all the grand things that are out there.
The good news is not everyone is a victim of this, and with enough understanding of why this kind of mindset is not healthy, many of us can change the way we look at our lives and our expectations of it.
Yes, some people will remain hard to please, and I suppose they’re entitled to that. But I’ve come to learn that the happiest people are often those who find satisfaction in the simple things — in love and in life.
