Sometimes, being able to access your partner’s phone is seen as a sign of trust.
After all, if they’re comfortable with you looking through something as private as a cellphone or personal computer, you’ll know they’re not hiding anything from you, right?
It’s possible your wife just wants that reassurance that you’re being faithful to her and not doing anything that will break her trust in you. Forbidding her from looking through your phone can raise a lot of suspicions and even cause problems in the future.
While it’s important to establish boundaries, especially in terms of privacy, you also need to communicate with your wife to reassure her that you’re not, in fact, hiding anything. You can meet each other halfway and establish something that will be agreeable to both of you.
