The first thing I’d suggest you do is to make sure that ending the relationship is what you really want.
It’s well within your rights, don’t get me wrong, but you have to be very sure, especially if your only reason is because your relationship has become stale and boring.
There are ways to address those kinds of issues without immediately resorting to a breakup. You can sit down and talk, to begin with. Let them know how you really feel, and maybe you can come up with a solution together.
You can also do something new and try exciting things to bring back the spark. That’s all part of maintaining a relationship, after all.
But if you’re either no longer interested in making things work or if you’ve done all that before and didn’t succeed, let them know. Be honest and give them the explanation you know they deserve.
