“What is the most honest relationship advice that someone has ever given you?”

That you can’t always love someone’s pain away.

My tía told me once that sometimes, no matter how much you love a person, you still can’t erase all of their pain.

Mental illness. Trauma. Insecurities. Most kinds of pain, and especially those you don’t always notice.

She said you can take care of them and give them your unconditional support, but at the end of the day, they still have to be willing to help themselves face whatever it is that’s hurting them.
