It’s actually pretty common. People deal with love in different ways, and there are those who make a conscious effort to not let their real feelings show.
A person can be in love with someone who’s already in a relationship, so they believe they don’t have the freedom to openly express their love.
Another may believe their love won’t be reciprocated, so they don’t wanna risk losing a friendship or making things awkward by confessing.
There are plenty of reasons for people to conceal their true affections, but not “showing” your love is not a guarantee that it won’t be discovered. It can still come out through unconscious actions or body language.
There’s a kernel of truth to what they say: you can never truly control love.
